Character Information
Name: Snow White
Canon: Dictatorial Grimoire
Canon Point: end of series
Age: over 2000 years old ; appears 18
History: http://dictatorial-grimoire.wikia.com/wiki/Snow_White
Personality: Snow White is very self-centered and narcissistic. He is beautiful and he knows he’s beautiful, and he is vain to the point of insulting others for (naturally) not being his equal. For his entire life, physical beauty had been a focus and was essentially taught as what defines self-worth. After suffering his mother’s abuse as a child, his entire being became wrapped up in his looks. If he is not beautiful, then he is nothing; and when faced with his reflection, his anxiety over this shows him his deepest fears. Having learned that beauty was what defined him, having learned that he could trust no one, Snow White became selfish, self-centered, and ambitious for what would best serve him, regardless of who he hurt along the way. When he perceives his greatness is being ignored, he becomes very upset and insulted.
That said, his interactions with Otogi Grimm during the series spark a change in him and make him question not only his behavior but his value beyond the physical aesthetic. Initially he was upset that Otogi did not care the least bit how he looked, but eventually he came to realize that Otogi cared about people’s hearts rather than their appearance. And when Otogi did not bind him back into the book but left him free -- in fact, risked himself to protect Snow White against Rapunzel -- Snow was able to realize that it wasn’t about leaving him powerless, it meant he was more than just a pretty face. Otogi saw him as a person, and Snow is trying to see himself that way. Old habits die hard, though, so most of the time his attitude will still be that of a haughty princess. But for those who try to know him and see the real him, he becomes very protective. He is proud and won’t admit affection for others, but if he manages to make a friend he wants to keep them close. He went in for powers, thinking that’s what he wanted; he left with the satisfaction of acceptance, finding that’s what he needed.
Abilities: Snow White has developed an immunity to all poisons after being poisoned repeatedly as a child. He can also summon various venomous creatures to do his bidding -- or simply to play with as pets. He can create a poison from his blood, as well as the antidote. It leaves the victim paralyzed and voiceless while it slowly kills them. Though he relies on his poisons primarily, he can also use a short blade or dagger as necessary. With his powers unbound, he could also summon low-ranking demon familiars, and seven special ones -- the seven dwarves noted in the fairy tale.
Strengths:
Poison immunity
Seductive
Fast/Flexible
Resourceful
Knowledge of poisonous substances/compounds -- can use his environment to his advantage (ex: burning hair)
Weaknesses:
Mirrors/Reflections (without his glasses) -- sees an ugly monster
Not especially strong, physically
Insecure, history of child emotional abuse
Vain & Proud
Brash & Rude (unless you praise him)
God/Shinki: God
Why?: As a Märchen Demon, Snow White can’t “die” exactly, he can only be sealed away in the Grimm Brothers’ book (which would make for a very short, inactive existence). Likewise, as a demon, he is inhuman and has innate supernatural abilities. They consume human hearts to live off souls, which could almost be comparable to worship (in a roundabout way). His major goal throughout the series is to regain his full powers, still tethered to the book, so becoming a god without the book’s limits is a wish come true -- except, as he realizes toward the end of the series, what he really wanted was acceptance. Suddenly having the full powers of a god, will he still be motivated to change? Or continue to be selfish?
Top 3 Choices:
Ta-Bitjet (Egyptian)
Cliodhna (Irish)
Angitia (Roman)
God Type: It is tempting, and easy, for Snow to use his abilities to harm others rather than help them. Poisoning has become second nature. But with the right motivation, he might attempt to heal it rather than inflict it. As much as he wants to be his own person, he might not get very far defiling the legacy of Ta-Bitjet. Snow White has no problem playing both sides for his benefit, so he’ll balance which prayers he answers for what he determines to be “the greater good.” He’ll only ask for a small sacrifice -- a heart. Metaphorically, or quite literally.
Power: Poison Manipulation, including drawing it (specifically) out of something/someone
-- Snow can still utilize his ability to create a unique poison out of his blood, and he’ll share that poison with his followers for a fee. As the new incarnation of Ta-Bitjet, however, his blood can become an even more powerful antidote. Instead of only reacting to his own poison, Ta-Bitjet’s power lets him cure all poisons with the use of his blood -- but he can only cure poison, nothing else. He can detect a poison at work in someone and can attempt to control it, draw it toward or away from specific organs, or to the surface for a doctor or other god to treat it, but he can only outright cure it with his blood. The obvious limitation is, he can’t be bled too much or even as a god he’ll die. So attempting to control it for someone else to finish the job, which may not be successful, is the best half-measure he can do while weakened.
